Members' Blogs - Week 24 of Lockdown

This little chap was surprised to see me but I’m glad I got a quick grab shot.

Here is an enlargement.

It's the cold bleak midwinter but we can still find some colour if we look.

The first is our cymbidium which has just gone wild this winter with 14 flower spikes when normally it struggles to produce one.

The second is cyclamen coum which flowers in the winter. Mottled leaves then appear for a few months before dying down. really good for seeding around and spreading.

And finally hamamelis which is a shrub just covered in flowers for a few weeks during January. Have managed to pick up a couple more from the reduced benches at B&Q and they are also in flower.
