Mike's Blog - Day 105

White Ginger Lily, Hedychium coronarium, in the tropical house.

Here it is in close-up.

Cultivated for the sweet scent of its flowers. Native to India, Nepal, Bhutan, Java. Introduced to South Africa where it is a declared weed and propagation prohibited. It is also invasive where it was introduced to Hawaii.

Bill took a picture of the bamboo shoot today, day 3. I think it’s camera shy.
