Mike's Blog - Day 139

I’ve never noticed this small tree close to the “Vessels of life” (see Day 38 for pic) ever flower before. It may have done.

It’s not a showy tree, its flowers are hidden by the foliage.

And here in close-up.

Of course it may well be the first time it has flowered, as even if it's unpollinated, fruit will form apparently and, as the fruit hangs on to the tree after leaf drop, it should be quite noticeable and I’d have seen those.

The fruit will be very recognisable, it’s the “Sharon” fruit that you can buy in supermarkets.

Persimmon, Diospyros kaki.
