I see in the news somebody tried to poison president Trump yesterday with Ricin!

If you remember, we had the castor oil plant back on Day 127. Ricin can be extracted from the beans apparently.

Here it is in close-up.

Our seeds - which we will sow for next year’s plants - are yet to be harvested. We grow the more decorative purple-leaved variety.

You can see the seeds are in very spikey seed heads, just like the seeds of Agrimony (Day 141) in the wildflower meadow. The sheep are now encrusted with those. Last autumn, it was so wet for so long the seeds actually started to germinate on the sheep and had green shoots…
