The low sun of winter casts long shadows and lights up the peeling bark of the Tibetan Cherry, Prunus serrula, beautifully at this time of year on the lawn leading to the cherry circle.

I thought we had had this tree already. It's grown for it beautiful bark which, in “the olden days”, apprentice gardeners would have been sent out to polish with beeswax.
