Mike's Blog - Day 73

A day for cutting down.

Contractors turned up today and after checking nothing had nested, felled the large conifer by the main gates which blew apart in those strong winds we had (see day 67).

Its left us with a big gap and new look to the entrance. Once they grind the stump out, then we can think what to plant.

The sheep need cut, well sheared, and we hope to start on Monday. In the mean time, I got our scythe out and cut back the nettles so they could make use of the good shade by the hedge.

They also enjoyed the cut nettles, they eat them when they wilt a bit, which they did in minutes in today’s heat.

Pretty pictures tomorrow…
