Each year, we organise a number of talks on subjects that are likely to be of interest to members. These talks are very popular.

In 2018, our wide-ranging topics include:

  • History and development of the National Garden Scheme
  • Plants used by the Guatemalan Mayan people
  • An Exploration of the spirit of Japanese gardens
  • History and future plans for the grounds and gardens at Gibside
  • Trials and tribulations involved in creating a new garden
  • New developments at Auckland Park and its gardens
  • 'Gardening on the Airwaves.' (A joint talk with Houghall Horticultural
    Gardening Society).

All talks, unless otherwise stated, are in the Visitor Centre in the Botanic Garden starting at 7.30pm. For details of dates and speakers, please go to the Programme page in the Members' Area.
