Day Trips

We organise a number of day trips each year to gardens across the North of England and Southern Scotland. We try to visit two gardens on the day giving everyone plenty of time to enjoy the gardens and, if appropriate, the associated properties. We also make sure that there is time to enjoy something to eat and drink.

We generally leave Durham at around 8.30am returning around 6.30pm. In 2017 we visited gardens in the Lake District and also Harrogate Autumn Flower Show.

In 2018 we organised two day trips. These were:

  • On 20th June we visited Helmsley Walled Garden and then moved on to the National Trust property at Nunnington Hall. Both venues are in North Yorkshire.

  • Our second day trip was in August when we visited Bide-a-Wee Cottage which is a lovely quarry garden in Northumberland. We then moved on to the National Trust property at Cragside.
